About Us
Welcome to L.A.C.A.E – Latin American Community Association of Edinburgh, a vibrant cultural and community organisation dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and promoting Latin American culture in Scotland.
Founded with the vision of creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, LACAE works to build meaningful bridges between Latin American and Scottish communities through arts, culture, education, wellbeing, and social connection.
At the heart of our organisation is the LACAE House of Culture, a community hub where people of all backgrounds can come together to learn, share experiences, celebrate diversity, and feel at home. Through workshops, festivals, family activities, cultural performances, youth programmes, and community events, we create opportunities for people to connect, grow, and thrive together.
Our Membership Types

- Invitations to family‑friendly cultural events
- Rights: One voting right per household at the AGM
- Who this is for: Individuals who wish to support LACAE at a higher level.

- Recognition on our website (optional)
- Free entry to selected events
- Invitations to supporter‑only gatherings
- Who this is for: Individuals or businesses providing significant support to the growth of LACAE.

- All Cultural Supporter benefits
- VIP invitations to major events
- Recognition in programmes and online
- Featured as supporters of the House of Culture
- Complimentary access to selected workshops
- Membership Duration
- Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of confirmation and payment. Renewals are invited annually.
- By joining LACAE, members agree to:
- Support LACAE’s mission and values
- Respect the diversity of our community
- Follow safeguarding, equality, and inclusion principles
- Engage respectfully with staff, volunteers, and other members
- Use LACAE spaces and services responsibly
- Members have the right to:
- Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- Vote on key organisational decisions (where applicable)
- Nominate and elect Trustees
- Participate in consultations about LACAE activities
Membership strengthens LACAE’s governance and helps us remain accountable to the community.
All members of LACAE receive a 20% discount on any of the sponsorship packages available for events and festivals organised by the charity, including LatinA Fest and the Edinburgh Carnaval Festival .
- All members receive:
- A digital membership certificate
- Optional printed certificate on request
Founding‑year members may also be recognised as
“Founding Members of the House of Culture.”
- LACAE reserves the right to cancel a membership if a member:
- Acts against LACAE’s values
- Breaches safeguarding or equality policies
- Uses the organisation for personal commercial gain without permission
Membership fees are non‑refundable once confirmed.
- Once you submit your interest:
- We will review your application
- You will receive a membership confirmation email
- You will be invited to complete payment
- Your membership benefits will be activated
